Quick Refresh

We have two refrigerators at our house. One in the kitchen and our second one is in the laundry room, like, a whole 5 feet away from the first one. When we first moved in I tried to keep the clutter to the second one, but having kids, it didn't take long for them both to fill up with art work and school work.

Every couple of months I clear off both refrigerators. I made the mistake of doing it during the day once and quickly learned it must be done in the cover of night. (You know, to avoid the tears and accusations. "YOU'RE THROWING AWAY MY SCRIBBLE-SCRABBLE?!?!" Seriously, those exact words have been thrown at me. I'm the worst.)

Ok, to the point. We have quite a few of those brightly colored letter magnets. They must hand them out at the hospital. They just seemed to appear. The letters got pretty close to not making the cut. That is, until I figured out how to give them a quick refresh. Enter my old friend...spray paint.

A very tiny change, but I'm enjoying it.

These Guys

This is my dad. He had knee replacement surgery...2 DAYS AGO! Can you believe he is walking around the block?

This is my husband. He's been working really hard and long hours. I felt like a kid, I was so excited to see him last night. I know two little people that were equally as excited. I would rather see my happy husband for 5 minutes, than my unhappy husband for hours...and I totally mean that.

This is my son's toe. He hurt it at the park and did not shed one single tear. Can you believe he's 3 years old? He did put his hands on his head and say, "Augh, it's hurting!"

Three pretty amazing guys. I've been blessed much more than I deserve.

The Art Show

It was really more of a performance piece, but cute nonetheless.

Ducks

We went to the park to feed the ducks. I planned on getting lots of cute outdoor photos. What happened was this...we pulled into the parking lot and see probably 40 ducks. We get out of the car and they start to head our way. By the time I get the bread out, they are upon us. I start tearing and tossing the bread and the kids are scared/screaming because the ducks are getting too close to them.

I quickly emptied our bread bag and hurried the kids into the car...as the ducks followed us.

I may have gotten a little hysterical myself and I may have had a quick daymare (is that what a daydream/night mare would be called?) of one of the ducks jumping into my car.

This is the only picture I got. We were safe in the car.

But our adventure wasn't quite over. On our way home we got stuck in traffic for about 20 minutes due to a bank robbery/stand off with the cops. After getting around the closed off intersection, we made it home safely. Phew!

What have YOU been up to today?

Sprinkler Kinda Day

It was a beautiful day today. So I said, Yes!

Madeline asked if they could play in the turtle sprinkler, and that's when I said it...you know, YES!

It feels so good to say, YES!

What are your favorite Summer activities?

Egg-cellent Day!

We had a little time...
 some eggs, and paint.
 So we got to work!

We ended up with Easter eggs I will cherish forever.

I'd love to hear about your Easter traditions!

Let's Play!

Playing outside makes everybody happy!

Pay no attention to the little girl picking her nose.

I love this outdoor weather, how about you?

New Phone

A few weeks ago I got a new phone. It's fair to say, I'm hooked on several photo apps.

All taken with the retrocamera app (Android Market)

These were taken with retrocamera and put together with photo grid.

I don't see the fun wearing off anytime soon.

My Granny

This coffee set has been on my Granny's counter my whole life. I noticed she started giving things away, and mentioned to my Mom that I really liked it. She said, "Tell Gail." (Dad's sister, Granny's daughter). I mentioned to my Dad that I really liked it. He said, "Tell Gail." I finally mentioned it to Gail. She (along with my mom and dad) didn't seem to know what I was talking about.

This past Easter when we were all gathered at Granny and Paw Paw's house I showed it to Gail. She told Granny, who of course packaged it all up right then and there. I knew Granny would do this, which is why I didn't want to tell her. Just wanted to make it known.

I will hold onto it forever. And think of Granny every time I look at it.

Teacher Appreciation Gifts

This is (in my opinion) the best thing I've made in a while. If you are a friend of mine, you will probably be getting something very similar as a birthday gift (unless of course you are also one of my kids teachers).
