A little inspiration.

I was awakened at 5:30 this morning by a not-really-grumpy-but-not-really-happy 2 year old little boy. I finally convinced him to lay down in our bed. After an hour of him deciding whether to steal my pillow or daddy's pillow he fell back asleep. I did too, but woke up for real with a killer headache.

To try and motivate myself to get over this headache and grump, I decided to browse through weheartit and find some beautiful sewing machines and sewing studios.

Here are a few for your viewing pleasure.

This is how my daughter and I look while I'm working. Ha!

More of the same

I was away from my sewing machine this weekend.  All I could do was cut.

This week is for assembling many LOVE banners.

Checking In

I've been busy, busy.
But have forgotten to take pictures of several things that have been shipped out. Oh well!

Preparing for Valentine's Day. Working on 5 or 6 more over the weekend!

A special request. I sure hope it's what she had in mind. I'm always nervous about special requests.

The color in this picture isn't so great, but the onesies are cute...I promise.

I have many more projects planned and started. It's never ending, but in a super good way. Not like laundry.

*BTW There's a rattlesnake in our fridge. For reals, y'all.

Happy Birthday.

Today is the husband's birthday.  He doesn't get as excited about birthdays as I do, after all it's just another day.  But I enjoy celebrating people on their special day.

This year he has been working very hard on his company Matt Weaver Designs.  I am so proud of all the things he has accomplished.

I couldn't ask for a better husband to me or father for our children.

He's my favorite.

He's a big boy now.

I got the itch to put Topper in a toddler bed.  He wasn't climbing, but I convinced myself he wanted covers and a pillow like his big sister.  I searched craigslist without success, and then just put it out there on facebook.  One of my friends responded saying she had one we could use, for free!  Can I just say...friends are AWESOME!

I got to work making some bedding.  I made a sheet set to fit the crib size mattress with plans to make at least one more set.  I found an old cotton waffle weave blanket that had shrunk too small to fit our big beds, cut it in half and hemmed the raw edges to make two blankets.  And finally made a little comforter/quilt.  It was all done very quickly, so it's not perfect, but it works.

We had the big reveal two days ago.

I think he likes it.

*Stay tuned to see the fun I have with the old crib.  It's a drop side, so it can't be passed on.

I didn't think it was a good day...

...until I looked at all of these pictures.

It got even better when I looked at Madeline's camera.  Which they had outside with them, while playing.

Looks like they had a little photo shoot.  They're so sweet.

I'm not gonna lie, I was not thinking sweet thoughts when they were throwing fits due to a lack of napping, running around the house, mocking me (yes, my 2 year old did a little impression of me yelling) and just general MAYHEM!

I'm glad I sat down and looked at all of these.  Puts my day into perspective.

It's Finished!

Once I started working on it without other projects getting in the way, I was able to finish in no time.  And Madeline likes it, so much so, that we argued about leaving it on her bed.  She wanted to carry it around and love it and hug it.

BTW she sleeps with all of those buddies every.single.night...and still wants me to lay down next to her.

ABC's

This is a little project I'm working on for Madeline.  I was inspired by something I found on etsy.

I think it's a fun little reminder to work on learning her letters.  For all of us.

After thinking about it all day, I get online to see this:

The Alphabet Song by The LMNOPs from The LMNOPs on Vimeo.

This is such a cute video, and they are totally right when they say it's not annoying for parents.
